We have been working away on this project since the beginnings of our own Breast Cancer experience in 2020. To see it now truly coming to life is the most special silver lining to come from having cancer. We are dreaming of the positive impacts this brand will have and we are so excited it's FINALLY happening ✨️

Who are we?

Check Your Bits (CYB) is a recently founded company that aims to bring health empowerment and education to the community.

We are a Christchurch based duo Tamara and Ryan. We have 3 small boys 5 and under. Our brand was born from our own experience with Breast Cancer, when Tamara was diagnosed at 37 weeks pregnant with our second son during the 2020 lockdown. This ignited our passion for spreading awareness around Breast Cancer risks in younger women, the importance of regular self checks and promoting health empowerment and advocacy.

We are a purpose driven brand wanting to not just see the change, but be the change. Having experienced breast cancer ourselves, we’re aware our current healthcare education and awareness for the younger generations needs a shakeup!! Breast Cancer can affect everyone and unless you know your risks, you can’t protect yourself. Breast Cancer can affect ANYONE. Gender, ethnicity, fitness level and even age will not keep you immune. This disease does not discriminate.

We’re here to serve you up the life saving info you need. So far this has been through social media and in person workshops. We now aim to launch a range of carefully formulated, natural bodycare products which are designed to act as your reminder to check in with yourself and assist in self checks.

Why pledge?

We have worked so hard over the past year bringing our vision to life. Currently we have a body wash in the making; with the formulation, bottle and branding all confirmed. In order to progress with our project and bring this beautiful self check and empowering reminder to the market; we are crowdfunding to push ahead with production. Some components are paid for and ready to go but the bottles and formulation will be the main components the money will go towards, as well as finishing aspects of the website and marketing. So by pledging your support and purchasing one of our rewards you can feel good about helping us get this product on the market and also nab yourself some of the first drop!! 

When will pledge rewards be shipped?

Once the campaign has finished successfully we will be able to forge ahead with odering our stock of beautfiul bottles and filling them with our incredible formualtion! We anticipate these to be ready to post out to you by late september but we will keep you updated as we progress.

Our vision?

The ultimate hope and vision is to increase the number of people performing regular self checks, which will lead to more people being diagnosed in the earlier stages and having better prognosis and outcomes. The big vision to reduce the number of women dying from advanced Breast Cancer in New Zealand every year!
