About

ClothesVine's Final Launch Fund

Project 2024-04-23 21:40:00 +1200

Over the past two years, the ClothesVine team has been developing an online platform which will enable young kiwi shoppers to be more active salespeople in the second-hand clothing market. We want to provide an easy and tailored buyer and seller experience which appeals to all young consumers, while maximizing seller profit. With this crowdfund we hope to finish tailoring and polishing off our platform user experience and pay off remaining development costs, so that the website can finally be launched. So far, we have completed a successful PledgeMe campaign in 2023 (raising $1600), which allowed the ClothesVine team to build the base webpage. Now, we're looking for a final piece of capital to push this platform into the marketplace!

Here's a look at what we've been building...

                                         (snapshot of our proto- webpage)

Cats, cars, or cardigans? TradeMe isn't cutting it... that's why we need a tailored platform.

Part of the Young Enterprise Scheme, ClothesVine is a dedicated online platform for buying and trading second-hand clothing in NZ. The platform will empower young Kiwis, allowing them to be their own salespeople, with a 100% seller profit policy.

Second-hand shops across NZ are overflowing with donations, and our landfills are strained with excess textile waste- local waterways are suffering from widespread chemical leaching. We need to start strategizing to reduce these problems. So why not help shoppers by putting convenience at the forefront of the clothing trade?

-Trade Me- New Zealand's largest marketplace

-Complex lisitng process

-Fees structure is prohibitive to sellers

-Not widely recognised for second-hand clothing

-No focus on promoting used clothing

-Erratic selections

-Awkward locations and lack of online access

-Low margins for sellers- shops take a 50% cut

-Innundation and dumping of old clothing produces huge domestic strain on landfills

-Chemical leaching into waterways

-Amount of textile waste doubled in Wellington city landfill over past 10 years

-87% of microplastics in Auckland's waterways come from synthetic textiles

Some key platform features...

> Listings are free to create and are limitless in number

> Customer-to-customer based

> On-site buyer-to-seller chat function

> Sellers promote their listing on social media

> Friends can shop + swap with one another

The money from this campaign will cover all building costs of the ClothesVine platform. Every contribution means we're one step closer to getting it up and running.

The second-hand clothing market is booming, so let's make this venture possible.
