About

Women Who Get Sh*t Done - July 2024

Project 2024-03-05 20:19:52 +1300

For the first time since 2019, Women Who Get Sh*t Done Unconference is happening again!

We’re inviting women and non binary attendees from our previous events to come together, to share stories, experiences, expertise and, well... whatever is on your mind and in your heart.

Everyone will have one thing in common - they get sh*t done (whatever that may mean for them these days). Together we’ll set the agenda on the first night, and work our way through an inspiring weekend of connections, conversations and shared learning.

This event is designed for a limited number of attendees to ensure strong bonds are made during the weekend. If you want to be a part of this dynamic, inclusive, friendly and diverse environment we invite you to pledge for your ticket now. If we hit our goal, funds will be processed after the campaign closes and will cover our base food/accomodation costs at a minimum, but if we sell all the tickets will cover other costs. We may sell additional tickets after this campaign closes.

There’s more information below, or if you’re the get-it-done-now-type go ahead and pledge! We’ll follow up for more information after this campaign closes (including dietary, rooming and childcare logistics).

When?

Friday 4pm to Sunday 1pm, 26-28 July 2024. That's right - a whole weekend away!

Where?

We’re off to camp in Waikanae! We’ve booked in at El Rancho (40 min from Wellington CBD and 50min from the airport - slightly longer on Friday afternoons).

To keep costs accessible, the majority of the accommodation will be shared in bunk rooms. There are limited single rooms available on special request, with a priority on those that require single rooms for medical conditions or for families.

If you require accessibility information for the venue, it is here. Please give Anna an email on [email protected] if you'd like to discuss accessibility.

Please note that this venue is a run by a christian charitable society, but our group is not affiliated with any religion.

Childcare

We will have on-site childcare for the weekend during the days. We will also have families housed together in their own rooms. This is to ensure you don’t miss out on attending if it’s difficult to find childcare, or you just prefer to have your kids with you.

Who Should Attend?

This event is mainly focussed on previous attendees, though you may invite one friend to bring along with you.

How Much?

$300 per ticket to cover accommodation, venue hire, food and drink, childcare and basic administration costs. We have scholarship tickets available for 20% of our attendees, and they are $150. We may also be able to provide a few travel scholarships - if this would help you attend please email Anna on [email protected].

Who’s organising?

This event will be coordinated by a crew of previous regional organisers, led by Anna Guenther. The previous organisers include Catarina Gutierrez, Kiri Allan, Ange Wallace, Jane Guy, Erica Austin, and Emily Blythe

Cancellation Policy

If you cancel more than a month out, we can refund your ticket.

If you cancel less than a month out, we may connect you to someone interested in your ticket but cannot promise you will be able to sell it.

One of our organising team summarised how we're feeling best with a simple "Yeowwwwwww!"

Reading through the list of pledgers is special and humbling. You are all inspiring individuals and awesome supporters. And you're the reason we made it. As a group,  you have made sure the first Women Who Get Sh*t Done since 2019 can go ahead.

If you know anyone else who should join us in July, send them our way (either to this campaign or Anna direct on [email protected]).

Have a great long weekend ❤️

Anna, Erica, Catarina, Jane & Ange

Wow! The last 24 hours has been wonderful. Thank you to everyone who has pledged, including the folk who can't attend but decided to tautoko this event anyway ❤️

If there's anyone you know who should come along, please do let them know they have a few hours left to help make this unconference happen.

Almost half way - can you shoulder tap?

26/03/2024 at 3:09 PM

Thanks so much for pledging to get your ticket or t-shirt (or both!) already. It means the world.

We're in the final few days of the campaign and need to hit our goal of $20k to cover our base accommodation and food costs by Thursday night at 9pm. Could you do us a huge favour and shoulder tap some of your fave women who get sh*t done to see if they'd like to join us in July?

If we don't hit our goal, you won't be charged. We'll regroup and figure out if we need a plan B or if this is the universe telling us to focus on other things :)

Either way, we really appreciate your support with this and hope we'll be seeing you in July!

Noho ora mai,

Anna
