Calling Parents, Grandparents, Aunties, and Friends of people with Little Monkeys who want their whānau stay sun safe the summer!
We urgently need to raise $37,000+ to avoid closure and make more of our NZ famous hats! We have done sales, markets and social media posts, but it is just not enough to cover our expenses as well as making new hats for this coming summer.
We (I) have some amazing projects on the board, but due to a non-existent summer of rain and floods, and a mild winter we have not had the sales we would have normally seen. This has had a significant impact on our cashflow, which means we have been unable to replenish our summer stock.
I live and breathe 3 Little Monkeys (including my own), I love what I do and what it represents and I am just feeling heartbroken at the thought of losing 8 years of hard work, sacrifice and brand building.
Your pledge will help us to make new summer bucket hats to keep your whanau sun safe this summer! and with the boost of sales from the new products line we will have the funds to spend on much need marketing. We will hopefully be able to employ a local mum part-time to help with customer service and dispatch.
3 Little Monkeys is a Children's Hat & Accessories company based in Kumeu, New Zealand/Aotearoa. Hi and Kia ora! I'm Aimee a mum of 3 Little Monkeys aged 6, 8 & 10 years. I started the brand with the desire to provide fun bright but practical hats for children. Initially selling hats from factory designs, I soon realised the only way to achieve this was to create and print my own fabric to really create the brand I had so wished for, and there it began ...
Realising that summer bucket hats weren't going to provide all-round sales, 3 Little Monkeys expanded into matching swim bags, school book bags, pencil cases, and hooded poncho towels. Also drink bottles and hairbrushes. I have backpacks, lunch boxes and some other practical everyday items on my vision board and hope to make them a reality in the near future.
We are all about fun bright hats and accessories for kids! We love all things Rainbow! There is nothing more magical than looking out the office window seeing that sign of hope shimmering over the Waitakere Ranges after yet another rainy Auckland day. A lot of my inspiration comes from my kids and what they have loved playing with as they have grown over the years. The 3 Little Monkeys family consists of many animals and you will always find one or two of these in my designs.
Remember Kiwi summers as a kid ... there were no wide-brim bucket hats, you would spend the first day playing outside enjoy the hot scorching sun, only to spend the next 4 days of your holiday inside recovering from being burnt to a crisp. Our hats keep your family sun safe and visible at the beach and pool! They replace the boring dull beige hats that our kids straight-up refuse to wear! Our Hooded Poncho Towels replace the flat beach towel that don't keep them warm, nor allow them to whip off their togs in private after 3 hours in the ocean. Our School Book Bags are funky, waterproof, have a carry handy and don't crack or flake within 2 weeks of starting school.
Our customers say "our kids actually want to wear their hats" WHY? Because we design for your child/mokupuna - not the adults. Kids want to wear unicorns, dinosaurs, monster trucks, diggers, hearts, flowers, donuts and sharks! Not their school uniform, school house colour, the beige hat that matches their shorts and definitely not the one where the brim flops over their face - that does not make playing outside fun right?

The Hat of Hope will come with an information pack on how you can help your children prevent
bullying in schools. We are donating $3 per hat sold to InsideOUT a national charity providing|
education resources, consultation & support for anything concerning rainbow and takatāpui communities.

Today I was at Orewa Markets handing out fliers and having awesome chats with the locals. Thank you to the pledges today and everyone so far who has pledge. Every dollar helps. Today we are at $630 online plus a few more to come in later.
