Two Todman and the Brooklyn Community Centre are partnering to revive the Brooklyn Community Festival. An evening of music, markets, food and drink.

History
The festival ended in 2009 after many successful years until the rising costs of road-closures made it unviable. The original festival was held on Cleveland Street, but Tranzmetro and Wellington City Council have advised us that due to increased volumes of public transport this is no longer possible. The new festival will happen on Harrison Street, spilling into the forecourt and playground of BCC.
Why Brooklyn Festival?
In our planning, we have recognised that many community festivals in Wellington are similar. Brooklyn’s festival will uniquely happen in the late afternoon and early evening. Beginning at 3pm, live music will be on offer for families as well as bouncy castles, an outdoor movie and affordable dinner options. Anika Moa will be playing her 'Songs for Bubbas'. At 6pm the festival will change gears with music and entertainment for adults. Harrison Street will transform into an outdoor restaurant space with local businesses and dining establishments asked to bring their best. Well-known Wellington musicians will play until 10.30 p.m. in a festive environment with a wide variety of food and drink available.
Budget
Key expenses and income streams are shown below, with the $2,500 deficit we hope to bridge with this campaign.
