We are Alliance Jiu Jitsu North Shore. We believe that through JIU-JITSU we can change people’s lives for the better. Founded in 1993, ALLIANCE is recognized as one of the best Jiu Jitsu schools in the world. It’s a reference not just for technique but for professionalism by all teachers across the globe. ALLIANCE is by far the most accomplished competition team in the world winning the world championships 13x. It is the home of many notable black belt World Champions. Today, there are more than 300 affiliates worldwide. Now, Alliance North Shore brings to Auckland a world-class curriculum that has a proven track record of teaching excellence.

Alliance Jiu Jitsu North Shore is co-founded by Fernando Wörner and Eli Ferreira. The two joined forces to share their love for BJJ and the benefits it can give to people.

The pledges will go towards renovations and upgrades at our facilities to improve the services and experience of our members.

We will also invest part of the proceeds of our campaign in our uniform inventory, so it is readily available to our students instead of waiting for it to come from overseas.

Above all, through our awesome rewards we want to give the community the opportunity to try and benefit from the distinguishable martial art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. 

Professor Fernando Wörner - 3rd Degree Black Belt - Alliance Jiu Jitsu North Shore Co-Founder is a Brazilian – New Zealander with 27 years of practice in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Affiliated with Alliance Team since 2019 he is an active member of the BJJ community, teaching and competing around the globe for the past decade. Fernando is a multiple-time BJJ champion and has won many tournaments in the past 10 years as a black belt, including NZ National Championship and the ACBJJ WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP in Moscow - Russia in 2018. Fernando has an open mind attitude and a methodical and detailed based approach to teaching BJJ. He strives to share with his students the decades of accumulated experience as a practitioner, teacher and competitor. Outside BJJ Fernando is a husband, father, entrepreneur, natural therapies consultant, stuntman, motivational speaker, outdoors enthusiast and avid reader.

Coach Eli Ferreira - 4th Stripe Purple Belt - Alliance Jiu Jitsu North Shore Co-Founder, started his BJJ Journey in his hometown Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2012 at Soul Fighter HQ nowadays Double Five under Master Leandro "Tatu" Escobar where he got his blue belt. In 2015, he moved to Auckland and had the privilege to meet and become friends with some of the best BJJs practitioners in NZ, such as Luciano Nash, Fernando Wörner and Pedro Fernandes. They all greatly influenced his life inside and outside the mats. Now a Purple Belt, Eli has been coaching for 4yrs. Recently he joined Alliance Jiu Jitsu under Professor Fernando and is a Certified Coach at Alliance North Shore. Outside BJJ Eli is a certified tradesman, trained physiotherapist (Brazil), surfer and nature explorer.
