5-Week Hokianga Visual Artist Residency

I'm asking for your support to enable me to take up a 5-week artist residency (April 3 – May 8, 2023) at the Rawene Church Studio in the Hokianga to create a new body of work (Abstracted Hokianga Landscapes series) exploring the expression in colour, composition and paint applications of the geography, culture and spirit of the area. The residency will result in the creation of a series of 6 – 8 original paintings (acrylic / multi-media on 60 x 60cm wood panels and 76 x 76cm canvasses) as well as a collage of fast daily sketches (charcoal, oil pastel, earth). On completion, the created works will be exhibited for locals and visitors of the area at the No1 Parnell Art Gallery in Rawene and subsequently at a public exhibition at the Ettrick Grove Studio Gallery, Papakowhai, PORIRUA.
