Hello! My name is Marine, and I have been planning to open this wholefoods store for over three years. I am finally ready to make it a reality here in Banks Peninsula!
Nomad Wholefoods will be a plastic-free store selling whole foods and household goods without wasteful and unnecessary packaging.
I want to help the community of Banks Peninsula to shop more sustainably; it is not just about the packaging but also about avoiding unnecessary trips to Christchurch! Operating from a trailer will allow us to be mobile and reach out to you in different locations and at the Little River Sunday's market.
This is the trailer we will be operating from.
The business idea came from the realisation that New Zealand has an unresolved issue around what to do with our waste. I recently moved to Little River and saw an unmet need for food access in Banks Peninsula; the offer is nonexistent in our rural area. So I have decided, "This is it! I am opening my shop right here!"
For people living in the outer Bays, we will also have an online shop to buy all your food with a "click and collect" system.
And for those living in Akaroa I am planning a weekly delivery service of your online orders, and if the demand is strong enough, I could also be present at the Saturday's market.
What do you get in helping me?
You can pledge as little as $5 to give me a little thumbs up or a bit more that you will get back in the form of vouchers once I open the shop. I also have a full year of discounts to give those who want to support my project strongly.
And for those who are like me, crazy enthusiastic about this project, you can get a lifetime membership giving you discounts each time you shop, forever!

Hello lovely pledgers!
The 2nd of October has arrived and unfortunately we are still a bit far off the target. Thankfully the people at Pledge Me have allowed to extend the crowdfunding campaign until 28th of October, so we still have a few weeks to make it a reality!
Please, keep talking to friends and family about the campaign and encourage them to pledge. I truly believe this business will be a great addition to our active community!
