The Germinate Workbook – A Growing Guide For Beginner Gardeners & Facilitators:
Project 2022-01-03 16:24:20 +1300
This beautifully illustrated 422 page ring bound gardening resource is almost ready but we need to raise funds for the final design, proofreading and printing so that we can get it out to our followers and beginner gardeners.
The Germinate Workbook is a guide for beginner gardeners and facilitators. It outlines the elements needed for growing an edible garden at home or in a learning community.
It includes the following:
The Big Picture • Foundations of permaculture and edible landscape design • Essentials for developing a small resilient food system
Seasonal Guide • Monthly overview - sowing, transplanting, harvesting and more • Learning focuses • Detailed background information • Seasonally appropriate outdoor and indoor activities • Learner handouts • Recipes
Zooming In - More detailed information • The living soil • Water • Composting systems & structures • Garden methods • Seeds, propagation • Tools & resources • Useful hard structures e.g. compost bin • Useful soft structures e.g. planting guide • Garden cafe’ • Home & hearth • Books & Resources We Love.
The Ring Binder - allows the learner gardener or facilitator to add their own information, research and records as their own gardening knowledge and experience develop.
WHO IS IT FOR? The Workbook has been designed to empower people to become successful organic food gardeners in a temperate climate. It has a wide appeal including those who are working in their own back yards, community gardens, urban farms and schools as well as families, individuals, teachers and students. It will support people to create abundant food producing ecosystems and strengthen food resilience in their communities.
