The Third Order. A VR Film And Theatre Project By Genevieve McClean

In 1910 in New Zealand, a Pakeha woman and her cousin, are preparing to go to dinner on the occasion of the woman's father returning from a lengthy trip to England. In a Pakeha-centric view of the world, in colonial Auckland City, with the suffragettes and the resonance of the recent Boer War amongst the background news of the Empire, problems of the heart and of the body are best concealed. While transgressing social rules seems easy for the men, for this young woman there is a drama unfolding that puts more at stake than anyone might expect. This Cinematic VR story experiments with putting narrative on the screen using theatrical technique. The idea of making old buildings come alive with history is something I have been drawn to for a long time. This is a screen production project that I am working on. It involves actors, and me directing them! It is hoped that the resulting work will be of interest to those working in public theatre, and installation, and in Virtual reality as a long form storytelling mode.

This is so exciting!
nailbiting and I'm so pleased to see that we are over the three quarter mark.
I'm very grateful to those who have pledged, I'm looking forward to being able to stop the fundraising part and focus entirely on the making part, and I'll be sending better updates then!
There are only just over two weeks left, and I am hoping to raise a further $1419 to take our project to the just slightly next level as an installation work for the public to view it, this will mean finessing and adding a few extra details such as an audio track for scene 1, making sure our two dimensional content is up to scratch, and ensuring that our work is deliverable to the public which involves a fair bit of behind the scenes running around.
it will enable our actors to be properly looked after, and make sure that we don't have to skimp on things like costuming set-dressing, lighting, food, whicle we're focusing on the rehearsal process.
20 people have pledged, and ideally, we need about 20 more!
Please could you help us by sharing this page to anyone you know who think could be a contender to pledge too?
