What is “Ghar Jane Do” about?
“Ghar Jane Do” is a short film which focuses on the complex familial dynamics of an immigrant Indian family in New Zealand, and deals with themes such as familial rejection, the LGBT experience, and how this intersects with the immigrant experience.
Who is working on this project?
We are a team of young passionate filmmakers who are hoping to produce a thought-provoking work that will resonate with the audience.
DIRECTOR & WRITER - Vaishnavi Anand is the writer and director of this project. It’s a film very close to her heart, and has been loosely inspired from her personal experiences. She has mainly worked in short films and commercial productions in the past, and is incredibly excited to be bringing to life this story she thinks is really worth telling.
PRODUCER - Shijia Chen, who was a reality show director in China, former member of the director group of "The Voice of China" and “Little Master” which was nominated by International Emmy Kids Awards Best Non- scripted Program.
DoP - Nemo Wang was working in advertisements, feature film and even judge for film festivals.
GAFFER - Jiaqi Tang
EDITOR - Joshua Dale
SOUND - Robyn Bryant, Soyam Dean, Alana Janssen, Sean Metcalf, Takudzwa TK Paradza
