"Within our lives we all face loss. Death is as much a part of life as breathing is, but we will do all we can to make sure that our loved ones are safe from death. No matter what it costs us. The 12th Day is a short psychological thriller that follows young Mother Abigail, who will do anything to protect the ones she loves and most importantly, keep her Daughter Sarah safe."

We are university students creating our final graduate film- The 12th Day, a short psychological thriller. Being students this film is being shot on a low budget, a very low budget.

We have been writing and scripting this story since the beginning of the year and are ready to make the film a reality. As this is a passion project for my producer and myself, we wish we could shoot this with no money, but sadly, we cannot. 

We hope by having this crowdfunding page, we will be able to raise enough money to benefit all aspects of our film production. From location to props, catering, costume and hopefully paying our actors. All money donated will go towards making the vision of our crew, actors and I come to life on the big screen. Something that is a dream for many of us.

This film is important to us because of the fact that it may pave a career pathway for both of us as well as get our name into the film industry.

DIRECTOR:

Kia ora, my name is Ryan Trehy and I am the director and writer of The 12th Day. My passion for films spawned from my passion for storytellers, my whole life I have been interested in writing, readings, folklore and mythology and when I was 14 this transitioned into bringing my stories to film. The 12th Day is a passion project of mine, spawned up during Quarantine and from a love of horror and dystopian films. The story came to me while I was discussing how to keep families safe during isolation with a friend when suddenly a Covid-19 announcement played on the T.V. The two ideas seemed to mix and what came out of it was weeks of writing a story that explored how we as people would do anything we can to protect the ones we love. 

PRODUCER:

Hi, my name is Hannah D’Offizi and I am the producer of The 12th Day. I knew that I wanted to be apart of the film industry ever since I was younger which is why, with a lot of support and guidance, I have ended up as a film major at AUT. I have a love for camera work within horror and psychological thriller films and that is why I am so passionate about this film that we are creating. I know that COVID-19 has affected us all and we understand the effects that have occurred. This is why we appreciate any money donated towards our project. Much love to all.
