Bygone: The Exodus - NZ Short Grad Film

Project 2020-06-04 15:44:38 +1200

Overview

“Bygone: The Exodus” is an apocalyptic short film which will be the 2nd chapter in what will become a series of short films. It takes place not long after the events of the first chapter solely titled “Bygone”. This film will not only act as a continuation in our short film series but paired with its predecessors, will also be used as a proof of concept when pitching to production companies or other investors. Our aim is that one day with the right funding and distribution this could become a show worth binging.

With humanity on the edge of extinction, Bygone: The Exodus continues to follow our two protagonists Arthur and Nora as they learn to live side by side. While Arthur has memories from before and comprehends the recent lives he's taken, his new acquaintance Nora, plans her long journey home. While other apocalyptic films deal with large scopes and big ideas, Bygone focuses on a small but impactful story which deals with the themes of Acceptance, Reconciliation, and compassion.

Where will the money go?

We hope to raise a minimum of $1,000 to help create our vision. The funds will go towards:

Cast & Crew – Majority of our cast and crew are volunteering for this project, so we want to help them out with travel and equipment costs.

Food – Because a lot of our team are volunteering, we want to help by feeding them on set.

Production costs – To enhance certain elements of our film we may need more camera/ lighting gear, help with fight choreography, and cash to settle some location permits.

Costume/Set Design – Our main characters already have their outfits, but we still need to make the costumes for the supporting cast.

Promotion/Marketing – We want to get our film out into the world and seen by as many people as possible. The more we get this film out there, the bigger our chances of continuing the series.
