The Danuta Band Studio Recording

Introducing Danuta Fairclough (nee Krys) to the NZ music scene! Formally of commercially successful 'Pickpocket' in her native Poland, here in Aotearoa Danuta's voice has matured into a more soulful, country, folk (some even say Celtic) sound backed by Jeremy Mason (Kill The Fake Patient, Jeremy Mason Music) on guitar. Together the duo creates beautiful original songs to sing along to.

How it was born: Nick Fairclough has long dreamed of being a singer/songwriter. However, being tone-deaf, his monotone talk-singing doesn't quite cut the mustard. But, with a lot of encouragement, he persuaded Danuta to dust off the cobwebs and get her back where she belongs, where she shines. On the stage, behind the microphone. And get the lyrics, which Nick wrote over 10 years ago as poems or scribbles, heard.

After receiving really good feedback from a couple of demos recorded in the kitchen/dining area of their rental property the trio want to take it to another level and get a song recorded in Hummingbird Studios Nelson. By doing this, there is the hope to get a radio quality recording which will hopefully create some exposure and a following beyond friends and family. They currently have about 6 songs and are hoping to gather enough of a following and support and material (of course!)  to release a full length album.

Costs below:

The main cost is recording in the studio, which costs $550 excluding GST plus paying for cello player and backing vocalists which costs about $120 excluding GST. We are looking for $770.50 including GST + $50 Pledge Me fees = $820.50 This is just to get started ... any more money raised and they'll be able to record more songs!

A successful Pledge Me campaign will mean that their kids are warm and fed and they won't have to sell their 2nd car to fund an album ... which they are very excited and passionate about. No they won't let their kids go hungry but it is highly likely 'Little Blue' - a Nissan March will soon be on the market.

Don't let raw talent go to waste ...
