Is Bullying Everyone's Problem?

NZ is listed in the top ten of OECD countries with the worst bullying statistics . Our resources dealing with the tragic results of bullying for teenagers and adults are never enough.  How much more effective could we be if we wrote a “prescription”earlier instead of sending an “ambulance” to the bottom of the cliff?

By targeting preschool and primary school children with a "no tolerance” message in an entertaining way, young children could stand a better chance of becoming healthier teenagers and then, adults.  Welcome to “SnowBright and The Oopsie Woopsies“, Nextstage Theatre Charitable Trust’s new play about bullying. Specifically written  for children aged 4 to 9 years old it's hitting the stage in Lower Hutt in October.

Nextstage Theatre Charitable Trust is focused on developing Hutt Valley Cultural arts identity through live theatre performance. By providing a professional platform for storytelling, we aim to enrich our local community. Our Trust is a small but select team of highly regarded business people who wish to contribute to a better civic future for the people of the Hutt Valley.

We are assisted in this mission by our Artistic Director, well known local actress and Producer, Geraldine Brophy.  Geraldine has brought many entertaining shows, movies and television to New Zealanders over the last 35 years and continues to contribute to her home city’s growing arts identity with Nextstage.

The Trust has staged several events since our foundation in 2016. Working with community groups and hiring local professional artists to perform, is central to our mission of top drawer storytelling. Providing modern day arts delivery to the Hutt Valley is Nextstage’s business and, like you, we hope to make a difference to our community.

“SnowBright and The Oopsie Woopsies”  addresses bullying and how to deal with it if you’re  small. Our planned season is from 30th September to 12th October 2019 school holidays at The Little Theatre in Lower Hutt.
