He mauri te reo Māori nō Aotearoa māu, mā tātou katoa
Make Te Reo Māori an essential part of New Zealand for ALL of us!
- Shirley’s Yoga Deck provides the framework, design inspiration, base content for 41 yoga poses (in English), and development process for the Yoga Cards idea.
- Jase’s work to integrate a Hauora yoga framework based on Te Whare Tapa Whā into his yoga studio, yoga teacher training, and M3 Mindfulness for Children programme.

Jase Te Patu– Jase Te Patu is of Ngāti Apa, Ngāti Ruanui and Ngāti Tūwharetoa descent. He has been teaching in the health and wellness industry for 27 years. These skills helped him to step more recently into the space of sharing yoga, meditation and mindfulness for adults and children alike!
He is an international yoga and meditation teacher trainer, co-owner of Awhi Yoga Studio in Wellington, facilitator, key note speaker and creator of M3 - Mindfulness for Children aged 5-10 years. Jase’s students include the All Blacks, the Hurricanes, the Pulse, the NZ School of Dance contemporary students and many more high- performance athletes. In the past Jase was a presenter/trainer for Les Mills International. He has also taught dance in schools throughout Aotearoa and travelled Australasia as a professional performer.
Jase was the winner of the NZ Exercise Industry Awards – Body/Mind Teacherof the yearin 2018. He also won a NZ Lifekeeper’s Award for Suicide Preventionfor all the work he does in the mental health space for men and youth alike. He is an Ambassador for Youthline and was also the recipient of the Regional Local Hero medal as part of the New Zealander of the Year Awards 2018. Yoga has been a beautiful space to utilise ALL of Jase’s tools in his kete and he’s excited to keep sharing his love of HAUORA and Te Ao Māori!
Shirley McLeod– Shirley McLeod is Wellington-based project manager, certified yoga & mindfulness teacher, and mum of two, of Pākehā decent. Shirley is the founder of Yoga With Me, New Zealand’s largest teacher-led social media community for the encouragement of yoga, meditation and wellbeing. In 2016 she developed and self-published the Yoga Deck – a set of 41 instructional yoga pose cards and 16 sample sequences – to share the practice of yoga with more people across Aotearoa and the world. Shirley is currently filming a set of yoga videos to complement the Yoga Deck cards.
Shirley was runner-up New Zealand Project Manager of the Year in 2013 and a finalist in the NZ Exercise Industry Awards – Body/Mind Teacher of the year2016. Through her day job at Te Puni Kōkiri as a founding team member of the Māori Housing Network since 2015, Shirley has a deep appreciation and respect for te reo and tikanga Māori.
