I began University feeling that a Bachelor of Information Technology was a career that I wanted to pursue. As I got half way through, I realised that even though I enjoyed working with computers, my real passion was animals. I then decided a Bachelor of Science majoring in Zoology, and a veterinary nursing qualification was the path for me.
I have always have grown up with animals from zebra finches to dogs, the house was always filled with animals. When I was in high school I would volunteer with animals, any way I could. While I was doing this I was forming a closer bond with animals.
Growing up I enjoyed reading about animal behaviour and veterinary medicine. I've been an owner of animals for 23 years. After university, I worked with Llamas, training them for trekking, I also volunteered in a veterinary clinic. This sparked my interest more in the medical field of animals.
I am confident that a veterinary medicine internship in Zambia is the right step towards a rewarding career working with animals. The internship involves working in the field of conservation which is close to my heart, is affordable and covers care of a wide variety of animals. Giving me the skills needed to assist in animal care. I love all animals whether they are furry or scaly. I love the idea of using what I learn to help the community, giving good care to pets. I like being able to learn about all types of animals including livestock. I am a very devoted, hard working person.
