STORY SYNOPSIS

When you think of the world worst superhero, most people automatically say Aquaman. Well, i have taken the concept of Aquaman and made it worse.

THE HUMAN GOLDFISH is a dark comedy about the worlds most unwanted superhero, The Human Goldfish, who possesses all of the powers of the Goldfish after being bitten by a radioactive Goldfish. After being teased countless amounts of times by the public and being kicked off his own superhero team, The Friends Of Justice, The Human Goldfish decides to quit the Superhero business once and for all.This becomes difficult however due to a bloodthirsty Jamaican drug lord looking for vengeance on Heroes puts the life of a beautiful marine biologist into jeopardy.

THE CHARACTERS AND STORY

The Story: The film is set in the present where superheros have existed for the past fifty years. Most of the current heros have become more involved with their image and their profiles on Social Media sites rather than doing any heroics whatsoever. The Human Goldfish is the only true hero who would rather be fighting drug dealers than updating his Twitter. Sadly The public would rather tease him for his image and name than rather commend him for his heroics. The film will follow a day in his life and all the teasing he gets up until the moment he decides to quit. The film will also show what happens to the self absorbed heros in the film also. 

Characters:

The Human Goldfish is an aquatic superhero who possess all of the powers of the common goldfish (He can talk to fish and breath underwater) He is a generally good person who is actually good at being a hero, but has become quite bitter after countless amounts of teasing and it's beginning to show in his attitude (He's a mix of Aquaman and Wolverine).

Home Run a trendsetting superhero who beats villains with a baseball bat. HE has been in Vogue and is always a highlight of fashion week, all the Indie kids wear the Home Run label. He is quite self-absorbed in his work which has effected his heroics. 

Lightspeed is a Feminist superhero with her own talkshow (Think Oprah with superspeed) 

Captain Alcoholism is an alcoholic superhero with a super-powered liver. His actions as a hero often lands him in the tabloids and in trouble with the law. 

WHY I AM MAKING THIS FILM

I am a student at a film school in New Zealand called South Seas and this short film is my end of year final project. It will be shot over four ten hour days in Auckland, New Zealand. The crew will be made entirely of students at South Seas which includes: Art & design, Camera, lighting, audio, acting, directing and producing students.

I have always enjoyed comic books and superhero film and have always wanted to make a dark comedy about a lame hero. The film will have action, romance, comedy and drama. 

The soundtrack will feature some original comedy folk songs, much like Flight of the Conchords, by Chasing Pink Elephants, which you can listen to here.
