Help Hannah Get To Taipei To Represent New Zealand In Ice Hockey

Hi, my name is Hannah Lawson, I am 15 years old and live in Christchurch. I am in year 10 at Cashmere High School.  I have played Ice Hockey for three and a half years, as a goaltender. I have been working really hard on the ice and at the gym to reach a level where I can represent my country and age group.

On the 6th of August I was selected for the Under 16 New Zealand Ice Hockey team. It came as a shock to me that I had made the team as I wasn’t at all expecting it. 

We will travel to Auckland on the 25th of September for a pre tournament camp.  On the 29th of September I will travel with the team to Chinese Taipei, Taiwan. We will compete in an international Under 16 tournament. From the group of 7 Canterbury players I am the only girl, however there are two girls from the Southern region on the team and one from Auckland.

 I am responsible for the full cost of the trip of $5000. I have some savings and mum and dad are contributing some money also, however, I am seeking additional funding to cover the difference.   I have planned a bake sale at school with my friends help but I still need approximately $2600. With the first payment due next week I need to find additional funding quickly or I will have to pull out of the team.  

I am hoping that you will consider sponsoring, or assisting me with a contribution toward funding my trip.  It would mean a lot to me to be able to access funds to enable me to attend this tournament.  Tournaments like this provide all the team with opportunities to learn and improve as we get to play a lot of games in a short space of time with some really good players.
