Walk The Talk Campaign
Project 2014-03-24 16:27:14 +1300
Vasa and Joe have already walked the entire length of the North Island, completed over 1000kms entirely on foot.
This year the boys will be walking the entire length of the South Island for the Walk The Talk campaign to complete the entire length of the country, raising awareness against child abuse and fundraising for the Starship Foundation.
Vasa Tasele and Joe O'Neill walked over 600kms from Auckland to Wellington in October 2012 to raise awareness against child abuse and fundraising for the children at Starship Hospital, it took 13 days to complete it.

In September 2013, the boys completed the North Island leg of their mission by walking 400kms from Auckland to Cape Reinga, it took seven days to complete it.

This year, starting from Sunday 31/08/14 to Thursday 18/09/14 Walk the Talk will complete the entire length of the country as the boys set out to walk the whole length of the South Island starting from Picton and finishing their epic walk in Bluff for this same cause as well as supporting Starship Foundation.
Our mission is to encourage our society to use exercise as a step to address one of the common cause of problems. Physical exercise is great way of releasing and managing stress. Don't wait to fix a problem when it’s too late, intervene it with a simple walk!

We are pledging a total of $1200 to help us with general costs of the trip to help us get to the finishing line, we are a self funded campaign and for the last couple of years have been able to fund the trip ourselves but this year as the trip is the biggest to date and the longest we need your help to get us to the finishing line, due to the fact we need to rent a car as we are on another Island we are pledging to help cover basic costs of renting a car for our support driver, help with petrol costs and help towards food as we go through allot of it being on the road for sometimes over 12 hours a day walking over 50km a day! We are planning on walking from the top of the South Island all the way to Bluff with no rest days, that is a total of 21 marathons in a row.
Vasa and Joe have been hard at work training since January 2014 to prepare for this huge walk in September.
Please support our cause and the children at Starship Hospital through our pledge by helping us to get to the South Island. "Giving is the best gift".
