Love Your Kite App

Eating Disorders have one of the highest mortality rates of any psychiatric illness. There is also a huge lack of understanding and resources to support those diagnosed or who are at risk of developing an Eating Disorder.
We are looking to create an inspiring and supportive resource, based on the award-winning Kite Program app, to support people through this difficult journey. Kite is based on microlearning- small practical steps each day that help make change. Like a beautiful book, it is user-led, is supportive and encouraging. The program is based on achievable modules called Kites, as well as having links to mental health resources and short mindfulness exercises.
Kite is currently available in the market as a wellbeing app for mothers, as well as a tailored wellbeing business solution and a support resource for wellbeing through Covid-19. We have an opportunity to take the existing platform and develop it into a tailored app resource for Eating Disorders- including specific content and design.
This resource will help not only those struggling with an Eating Disorder, or those at risk but also provide support to their families and carers.
We have called this project Love your Kite.
A kite symbolizes freedom and wellness. These bite-sized activities will be written as if your free and well self is supporting you through your journey.
To do this we need your support.
Whilst we aren’t needing to build an app from scratch, there are many costs to consider before we can get this beautiful product into people's hands.
From app development through to content creation, website support, admin support and clinical input- this all costs money. We are needing to raise $50,000 to support the development of this app program. Including content creation, website, and design support, as well as clinical oversight and marketing to ensure a successful roll-out of this program. We do not want cost to be a barrier and so with our funding, we will also commit to gifting 10,000 subscriptions free of charge for those who cannot afford it. Love your Kite will then work on a koha/donation model.
This is a collaboration between Genevieve Mora, Co-Founder of mental health charity Voices of Hope and Eating Disorder survivor, and Hannah Hardy-Jones, Founder of Kite and mental health advocate.

Hey amazing Pledgers,
At 11.59 pm Monday 5th September (tomorrow night) our pledge me closes. Pledge me works on an all or nothing basis, so unless we hit the $25,000 we walk away with zero.
We are SO close and are so thankful for all the support you have given us so far.
If there is anyone within your personal networks you think would like to support us and help us reach our target please do share.
We want to have Love your Kite available by Christmas and know it will make such a huge impact to everyone and anyone fighting an Eating Disorder or Disordered Eating.
We are so grateful for the support you have shown us.
Without you all, we would not have got this far.
Lots of love,
Gen & Han
