The Invasion Of Morsel

Kia ora. I'm writing this with dough encrusted arms, surrounded by cake boxes, using my coffee table as a printer stand. In November last year, after spending 9 years in and out of hospitality in various capacities, I finally got the courage to start my own venture. Despite almost losing my Dad, raising my son and a big breakup, I managed to fit out my 7m2 hole in the wall shop in the Auckland CBD by myself with a bit of help from my suppliers.

However, thanks to my absolute fluke of a cinnamon bun recipe, Morsel is growing at a rate faster than I can maintain by myself and I'd love to keep the momentum going by getting a bit of a boost to help fund the next stage of my venture - making a small, yet viable commercial baking operation. I'd also like to run school holiday baking/cooking skills programme for kids, potentially do a few popups around the country or just less exciting, but more stable things like, putting together an actual bakery, employing some awesome people and paying them a living wage.

Unlike lots of really blessed operators, I don't have a super wealthy family to back me up or a partner to support me. This is 110% me. Everything made in the shop is made by me, my recipes and my techniques. There's a lot of room for improvement which I want to do, but I don't have the funds, equipment or headspace to expand. I'd love to spend more time with my son and my still very sick Dad, but I still want to see things grow, make em proud n stuff. Yknow how it is, carpe diem and all that.

SO, if you're really keen on supporting a bad b*tch who wants to make the world better with treats, please support me and my dream. That'd be rad.
