Open Plan: An Art Party

Project 2012-10-07 22:22:37 +1300

Come make a party! Help Letting Space and The Playground NZ celebrate independent, boundary-breaking art making in Wellington by pledging now to secure a place at an (insert superlative here!) art party. We want to acknowledge the fabulous artists who have worked on Letting Space projects and The Playground's Performance Arcade over the last three years, and christen the future for the city as a crucible for temporary public artwork.

November 3rd, 2012, 8pm – 12am
@ The Sustainability Trust, Forrester Lane, Wellington
BYO drinks

Acts confirmed: legendary DJ Linda T (of D.A.N.C.E Art Club), Samin Son and All Seeing Hand, with a plethora of new performance pieces to come. Special guests: Gapfiller from Christchurch

This event is defined by YOU – our artists and participating audiences. The party will only happen if you pledge now. There are no mystery art patrons - only us, collectively making something special happen. Pledge $10 now and you will receive an invitation to this invite-only affair.

Contribute more and you get more too: those who can offer $50 will receive two invites, a postcard set of work by Letting Space artists, and an invite to the opening of The Performance Arcade on February 13, 2013.

If we can get more than $1200 the first drink is on us!

Other ways to help - we are also looking for help on the night to work the door and the bar, and to help with set up, clean up and pack down. To offer your help, please contact [email protected]

location of Forresters lane and talk today

02/11/2012 at 11:38 PM

Hi party goers ! There seems to be some confusion about where the party is - it's v central - Forrester's lane is behind Chow on Tory St - it runs parallel to and is and v close to courtenay pl. It is where the entrance to Motel is and is a service lane for many bars.  The Sust Trust is the large big building at the end of the lane on the right. You'll see us!
And the pre-party talk is at 3-5pm at City Gallery Wellington. Free !!

all the best and thanks again ! Looking forward to a fab time.
Sophie & Mark
