I am Jessica Gleeson, I am 21 years old and I have known that I was going to study Fashion my whole life.
The next 13 weeks are going to be the most crucial of my life so far.
This final collection for my Bachelor of Design (Fashion) at Otago Polytechnic is the culmination of everything I have learnt in my studies, personal inspirations, skills and a lot of work. The collection is based on a strong woman, with an emphasis on modern tailoring, line and fit, a love of natural fibres and fabrics, consisting of a minimum of 5 outfits (which will be a range of separates, currently looking at around 13 garments). With a print being designed for the collection. A budget of $4000, to purchase final fabrics, cover printing costs, footwear, toiling costs and enlist the help of a professional photographer and models.
Being a fashion student is a very stressful undertaking, there are never enough hours in the day or dollars in the bank. It can be very disheartening to design a collection and then having to sacrifice elements to be able to afford it. I need your help to be able to make my dreams a reality and not have to cut any corners.

FINAL FEW DAYS

Hi everyone, as we approach the last few days of pledging I am in the midst of toiling the garments. The final 5 outfits have been whittled down from the 10 outfits designed, this was a very hard task! Lots of drawing and redrawing late at night.
The toiles are trucking along nicely, we have 3 weeks till final toile check where all the garments must be completed to sample standard. 3 weeks, 13 garments. It's going to be a busy time.
To everyone that has pledged so far, thank you so, so much. Fabric orders must be confirmed in the next 6 days so the pressure is on.
If you haven't already pledged then it's not too late, we still have 4 days to reach the target! WE CAN DO IT!!

Thanks to everyone who has pledged so far, the collection is nearly finished being designed and fabrics are currently being chosen! Very exciting, and stressful times ahead. Please continue sharing with your friends and family, all the support is very much appreciated x
