What We Need

Currently, we're on the verge of perfecting our new tooling. By raising $12,000, we aim to complete the final stages of manufacturing, heat and performance testing for our newly developed, long-lasting production machinery. This will ensure that Coralcone menstrual cups can be produced sustainably and responsibly, right here in Aotearoa, for years to come.

Setting our sights on a stretch goal of $20,000+ will fuel the next small limited run of Coralcone menstrual cups or do any necessary repairs to our tooling if testing wasn’t successful.

Any more funding would provide the necessary momentum for our startup to grow in product offering and human power. 

What Makes Coralcone So Unique?

During the pandemic, Yvette Shum (founder) and Heather Cunningham (product design engineer) teamed up with women's health professionals to create a product aimed at overcoming the functional limitations of conventional menstrual cups. They uncovered a multitude of usability issues associated with standard design, which not only deter many from using them but sadly also dissuade others from trying them altogether.

Typically molded as one piece, the common advice is to take a pair of scissors to cut a stem to your desired length. Now this might seem like the solution, but this crude approach leads to health risks, environmental waste and results in DIY mistakes.

Enter Coralcone with its revolutionary two-part design and re-attachable stem that moves in harmony with your body. This innovative approach provides unparalleled comfort, ease of use, and adaptability, catering to both menstrual cup newbies and experts alike, spanning ages 13 to 53 all across the 40-year menstrual age spectrum.
