Ruahine Menopause Empowerment Symposium: Building A Supportive Framework

Project 2024-03-03 17:58:42 +1300

Discover the Keys to Embracing Menopause with Confidence.

Your pledge will help us bring life to the Ruahine Menopause Empowerment Symposium where ancient wisdom meets modern empowerment.

Join us in October 2024 for a two day Ruahine Menopause Empowerment Symposium: Building a Supportive Framework.

We want to bring together esteemed mana wahine to collaborate and discuss ruahinetanga or menopause, and cultural practices that enhance and celebrate this stage of our lives.

Engage in meaningful conversations, participate in Q & A panels. connect in networking sessions and discover the rich tapestry of our atua wahine.

In addition witness our very own artist capturing the essence of the symposium to inform the development of a supportive framework that will reignite the matauranga of our tupuna (ancestors).

The Health System's Current Approach to Ruahinetanga Falls Short in Meeting the Diverse and Cultural Needs of Wahine.

Traditional medical approaches often focus on symptom management through hormone therapy or medication.

These options may not address the cultural or holistic needs of menopausal woman, such as emotional, cultural, spiritual and whānau well-being.

By incorporating te ao Māori principles, we can practice self-care that resonates with our DNA and empowers women to navigate ruahinetanga with confidence and resilience.

Your Pledge will Ignite a Paradigm Shift in how Society Percieves Ruahinetanga or Menopause.

After the symposium we will be providing oppotunities for you to be a part of the Ruahine Framework launch at the end of 2024..

Therefore by supporting our symposium, you're fostering long lasting change in destigmatising menopause empowering women to embrace this phase with dignity, knowledge and pride.

Join us in re shaping history for women in Aotearoa.

My Name is Priscilla Te Hau and I am Ruahine

As I reflect on my ruahinetanga journey and my quest to find insight into my grandmothers' lives, I realise that this phase of my life is more than just hormonal changes - it's about reclaiming my identity and embracing the wisdom of my tupuna (ancestors).

I am blessed to have been raised in Rotorua and shared between my maternal and paternal grandmothers.

I feel it is only right that this project not be just a journey of reclamation but in honour of two wahine toa, my nannies, whom I will always cherish, both mana wahine, who helped shape and influence the way I view the world.

Clarabell Shapewear

Clarabell Shapewear are offering Clarabell 2 N 1 Shaper leggings as rewards to support the upcoming symposium.

Inspired by my wedding I created Clarabell Shapewear, where empowerment meets comfort and confidence. We believe in supporting women in more ways than just shapewear.

Our mission is to empower women to feel confident, strong and beautiful in their own skin, regardless of shape or size.

I envision the Ruahine Menopause Empowerment Symposium will highlight the experiences, knowledge and multifaceted nature of women's lives and the power in celebrating the parts of us that we were taught to be ashamed of.

Your support will help us to expand our reach, amplifyig the voices of women from across Aotearoa.

Join us on this journey to build a framework that is not an alternative.....it just is.

Tena tatou katoa

I want to extend my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who have generously pledged towards the Ruahine Menopause Empowerment Symposium. Your support means the world to me, and it's truly inspiring to see such a strong community rallying behind this cause.

I also want to thank those who have shared my posts, left comments of support, and engaged in beautiful conversations with me. Your encouragement and positivity fuel my passion for this project, and I'm immensely grateful for your ongoing support.

I'm excited to announce that we'll soon be launching a podcast featuring deep, meaningful, and raw conversations with women navigating the journey of menopause. Stay tuned for updates and be prepared for some enlightening discussions.

In addition, I'm eager to connect with indigenous women to learn from their cultural practices and matauranga surrounding menopause. Their insights will undoubtedly enrich our understanding and support networks during this transitional phase.

Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your unwavering support. Together, we're making a real difference in empowering women through the menopause experience.
