3 months ago, a family member asked me if I wanted to help them with video and photography work for their business. With no experience, but a willingness to give it a go, I said yes!

This would become my secondary job to help our family’s finances, and out of necessity and opportunity arose a new passion. I soon fell in love with the lens and the power it had to tell interesting stories and perspectives.

I want to start my own photography and videography business. With only 3 months of experience, I already have a few clients who back my work; however, I can only borrow gear and equipment for so long.

I’m asking for financial support to help kickstart and grow this business. My vision is to provide professional services with a unique and distinctive take on photography and videography.

My business will provide media for:

-        Events

-        Advertising

-        Portraits

-        Real estate

-        Sports

-        Documentaries

-        Music videos

-        I will also write and produce my own music, customised for any video requirements.

I’m a creative, through and through, and my main outlet over the last 30 years has been through music. I have performed on many different stages with many different instruments and tools. My most recent accolade is completing my music degree, and I currently produce and play for my local church.

I’m married with two children who both also seem to have a creative bend, whether it be music or drawing. My current goal is to improve our financial position so that we can live our best lives, and I believe this business opportunity works to both my strengths and for our family’s circumstances.

I’m initially asking for $4000.00 as this will help me purchase a Sony Alpha IV camera body. This is a hybrid camera, proficient for both photography and videography.

My stretch goal would be $10,000 and this will get me lenses and accessories that enable me to provide full professional services.

This type of work requires a major financial investment, and your help would provide the foundations for me to start.

Nice to haves would be:

-        Camera slider

-        External camera monitor, cage, and battery

-        Secondary camera as a backup and for alternative video angles

-        Cinema lenses

-        Extra lighting equipment for improved and expanded options.

-     Computer equipment to improve workflow speed and accuracy

For me this opportunity fulfils two needs. It helps secure my family’s future and it allows me to fully express my creative ideas and perspectives. I have a deep well of creative energy that I want to pour out and communicate, and I believe I can provide innovative and distinctive results. I want my work to elevate businesses, capture special memories and moments in time, and create a legacy my children and family can be proud of.
