"It's Like A Cult... But I Really Want To Be A Part Of It"- Viewer Of LUNACY Workshop

"LUNACY" is Molly O'Hagan's debut work in the NZ Fringe Festival and we need your help to get it off the ground! The 45 minute dance work illustrates “intermittent insanity, believed to be related to phases of the moon”.

But what will my donations be going towards? Your generous donations will be helping fund a variety of costs incured by the production:

A pledge for theatre hire: $40

A pledge for one hour of artist work: $26

A pledge for rehearsal hire: $20

A pledge for a song license: $15

What about paying the people involved? Of course! Paying artists is such a strong and important topic and that's why I am absolutely fizzed to announce we have received funding from Fringe for 80% of our personell costs! This campaign will cover the remaining 20% of personell costs. 

So, what is the show about? LUNACY illustrates the intermittant insanity that is believed to be brought on by the full moon. The piece begins with a WAVES section evoking a sense of calm before the HYPNOSIS section of enthusiastic worship. We take a dark turn into the LUNATIC section before the release of RITUAL. The show ends with FESTIVAL, a fierce celebration of all that has been and will be.

How did it start? “LUNACY” began as a 15 minute workshop for an assessment during Molly’s degree year at Te Auaha Commercial Dance course. After 4 successful showings, she was offered a season in the Fringe Festival. Molly is beyond thrilled to be producing her first ever show, and is especially grateful for the team of creatives that are working alongside her to rehearse, light, photograph, video and crew the production.
