From the team behind urban winery Known Unknown comes House Wine - New Plymouth's friendly neighbourhood wine bar!
We opened Known Unknown in Taranaki in 2021 and since then we have given wine lovers fun, engaging wine experiences and amazing wines (and cider too!).
As a functional winery and cellar door, our set up doesn't allow us to serve wine by the glass so we're opening a wine bar where you can! At House Wine you'll be able to taste our wines, have a drink and a nibble, and buy a bottle or two to take away.
As well as our Known Unknown wines, House Wine will also have organic wines from our friends in Aotearoa and around the world, as well as a selection of craft beer and other drinks.
We'll be open early August 2023 so join us soon for a drink at House Wine on Devon Street East, New Plymouth where you can have... you guessed it... the house wine!

Kia ora folks!
First, thank you for all of your support we really apprecaite it! We're at 71% of our $2000 target so we're almost there! It ends on Friday so if you haven't pledged already now is the time... If you've already pledged, THANK YOU, but please share with your friends and family who are wine lovers! The more people who know the better!
We've got awesome up-sized bar tabs, wine (of course) and merch!
The way the bar tabs work is pretty simple:
Pledge $50 and get a $55 bar tab (10% extra),
Pledge $100 and get a $120 bar tab (20% extra), and
Pledge $200 and get a $250 bar tab (25% extra)!
We're back open for coffee and the bar has had a fresh lick of paint AND even more exiting we've had the builders in so everything is beginning to take shape! Here are pics of our new bar and paint-job!
We can't want to have you join us for a drink from the 10th of August! Lots of people have asked and we will be taking bookings so feel free to email [email protected] to book!
Some more news... we we're in the news over the weekend so we're stoked to be building some momentum... Here is the link to the stuff article. We've also finally secured a liquor licences and even hosted our first wine tasting last week! It was amazing and thank you to everyone who came!
Finally, we have two aweosme Known Unknown events over the coming weekend... first off we have the launch of our wild red, 2022 Red Right Hand at the winery in Taranaki on Friday night (and with the bar, Friday will also be the last day it's open with regular hours - but don't worry we'll still be hosting events there) and then on Saturday and Sunday we're hosting a pop-up cellar door at Ragtag in Westmere in Auckland (hot on the heels of a similar event in Wellington on Saturday). So it's full steam ahead!
