Project 2014-11-10 14:50:44 +1300
The latest project from Lime-Red Design (following www.huttkids.co.nz and www.hutt360.co.nz is a website, “Greater Wellington Women” where it’s run like a magazine - coining a new phrase, ‘magoline’ :)
What’s it all about?
We're creating a very professional online magazine (magoline) where content will change monthly like a magazine, giving a reason for people to return and will be widely varied from sport and fitness to sex (sensuality), business, shopping … There’ll be articles, blogging (have you been thinking of self publishing and not sure where to begin?) and (I’m hoping) video interviews. We have a number of people interested and think it would be “fantastic” but, learning from the past, we’d be keen to spread the word, get some helpers (in the form of bloggers/writers and advertisers) and of course the all important funds to get the ball rolling!
Previous months will be all available on the site under their month and year so you'll never lose an edition. If you're advertising your advert will stay indefinitely on the page it was put (unless for some reason you ask us to remove it!) Same with blogs and articles ... Write it once and it can be found over and over and over ... I think you get the picture!
The magoline will be a quality “publication”, a fun and inspirational hub for all – individuals and businesses alike, men and women. While it’s targeted to women, we know there are plenty of you modern blokes out there who won’t be able to resist reading it too (we won’t tell, promise!)
We've got more planned. Oh the possibilities are endless … and so is our dedication and ‘can do’ attitude! We're super excited about this one!
Social media
What website would be complete without an active facebook following? Like Hutt Kids and Hutt360, there will be a facebook page (this is now set up! click here to view - we're building numbers through our networks and advertisng) directing people to the website - posting the latest articles, interesting facts and stories from our contributors.
What’s different about it?
Unlike Hutt Kids and Hutt360, we’re involving a heap more local people in this project, to help us make Greater Wellington Women everything it can possibly be. Visitors will be able to choose from educational, inspirational or funny and offbeat content, find out the latest about what the greater Wellington area has to offer women, like where to go for what and how to deal with that annoying in-law (we have professional bloggers waiting and poised!). Best yet, unlike a magazine, it'll be free for everyone to read!
Our aim is after visiting the site, you’ll be fully informed and entertained, inspired to ponder life’s greater mysteries, to write your own blog or article, launch a business, rearrange your furniture ... take on the world!
What's in it for you?
Well... where do we start? First and foremost you can feel that you've helped get this cool project off the ground, then you can read it for FREE, be inspired and have the chance to contribute AND if your business offers services to women, it’ll be a great hub to reach your target audience. You can share a blog (see examples here: "preggers in petone"; or (for business blogging) accountants blog), write articles (see an example here) and/or advertise your business. You can be part of something great!
Will it work for you?
If you're wanting to read the content then YES absolutely! If you're wanting to write/advertise then if this is your target audience you're certainly going to have a great 'hang out' place to 'meet' all those potential customers! With anything - the more you put into it the more you get out of it - if you're blogging/writing then tell all your mates - point people to the articles from your newsletters and facebook pages etc... everyone else will be doing the same and this increases the traffic! Whoop whoop! We'll be doing lots of advertising too - pushing out flyers and posters and facebook posting and advertising... we'll be pumping it as much as we can and getting you seen.
Here's a bit of history - about us!
We're from the team at Lime-Red Design www.lime-red.co.nz - we've been in business over 10 years now so have a very good solid foundation - we’re also a very community minded business having created www.huttkids.co.nz and www.hutt360.co.nz – Hutt Kids was created because Hayley got very bad post natal depression after her second child was born and struggled a lot ... hutt kids was her way of helping others who are suffering that's why these two websites were done (pretty much) for love and we continue to support and update them – they’re owned by us and we have a some outside help through supporters whom we're very grateful for!
Why do we need the dosh?
The first six to 12 months of any new venture can be difficult so your pledges will help keep our heads above water until the popularity takes over and advertisers and contributors are beating down our doors (sending loud and plentiful prayers to those above!) With your support we know we can make this project a raging success!
We’re a small team with heaps of get up and go. We’ve got a designer, photographer and writing team chomping at the bit to get this started. Your hard-earned pledge dollars will be used to pay for time and resources in graphic design (over $4000), website development (over $8,500 - it's going to be a big site!), website updating over 6 months (over $6,000) search engine optimisation (over $1500), writing (over $4,500), research (over $1,000), photography (over $1,200) and networking, for a launch date of Feb/Mar 2015...
Perhaps most importantly, your pledge tells us you want this! We're on a mission to make this project the best yet. It'll be absolutely fabulous darling, join us!
So go on! Help make it happen - you know you want to!
