Royal Academy of Music, London - Postgraduate Diploma in Musical Theatre
Academic Year 2013/14
BRIDGET COSTELLO PGDipMus BMus
Personal StatementI was recently accepted to study a Postgraduate Diploma in Musical Theatre at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Each year, hundreds of elite performers from around the world audition for this prestigious course. Only 15 places are reserved for female performers. I am the fourth New Zealander who has been selected for this course since its establishment in 1993. Studying at this renowned institution will give me an excellent grounding to pursue my goal of a career as a musical theatre performer, with its close links with the West End theatre scene. A course of this calibre comes at a cost and I need your help. I need to raise $48,700 to cover fees and living costs for the academic year 2013/14.
This is much more than a career I want to pursue - this is who I am. I believe I have what it takes to make an impression on the musical theatre industry. I am resilient, open-minded, focussed and courageous. I live and work with integrity and passion. I cannot wait to represent New Zealand on the international stage. This is my dream, which, without you would not be possible. Thank you for your time and consideration.
