Hello Film supporters.

The ELLEN IS LEAVING team is so happy to announce our selection at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin Texas.

I'm the director of the short film and would like to go if I can. The festival is really soon too, March 8-15 so I'm going to try and raise the money in 10 days.

It's important to attend festivals with your film because its great to watch the film with an audience and festivals are really the main places that short films are screened.

I'd like to support the film through putting up posters, telling people to go see it, and doing the Q & A's. And on top of all this it's a great opportunity to meet other awesome creative people.

ELLEN IS LEAVING is about Ellen who is pretty cool. She is recycling stuff before she heads overseas, including her boyfriend. She decides to give him to another girl, but she starts to doubt if she can actually give him up.

It's a slacker anti-romantic comedy set in Wellington, New Zealand. It first premiered last year in the 'New Zealand's Best' Short Film Programme at the 2012 New Zealand International Film Festival. Since then it has played in competition at the Show Me Shorts Film Festival, Chicago International Film Festival 2012, and Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival 2013.

I'd love your support in going, there are some cool rewards too. Any amount will be a huge help! It's all going to airfares, travel insurance, and anything left over will be put into printing posters for the film.

Here is my Bio:

After completing her Bachelor of Media Arts with Honours, her student film BETTY BANNED SWEETS, was accepted into several high profile, international film festivals including Melbourne International Film Festival 2008 where she was invited to participate in the Melbourne International Film Festival 'Accelerator' Programme. The film went on to screen at Gijon International Film Festival 2008, Aspen Short Film Festival 2009, International Festival of Rotterdam 2009, Edinburgh International Film Festival 2009 and was in competition at the Clermont-Ferrand International Festival 2009.

Her second film ELAINE RIDES AGAIN premiered at the New Zealand International Film Festival 2011, Show Me Shorts Festival 2011 and was in competition at the 58th Cork Film Festival 2011.

In 2011, Michelle spent three months in New York working as an intern in the script development department of Killer Films, a company at the forefront of independent American cinema headed by producers Christine Vachon and Pam Koffler.

Her most recent short ELLEN IS LEAVING was a finalist in the 'New Zealand's Best' Short Film Programme at the 2012 New Zealand International Film Festival and has gone on to screen in Show Me Shorts, In-competition Chicago International Film Festival and Clermont Ferrand International Short Film Festival 2013.
