About

Kiwi Can Do Bolivia Challenge

Project 2024-05-17 17:48:01 +1200

Team up with 77 yr old Reg Cook and his motor racing team to set a seemingly impossible new world landspeed record of 550mph/880kph for a piston engine wheel drive car. He's taking four land speed racing cars to Bolivia to set new records. Reg Cook, is a fearless pioneer in the world of motor racing. He already has five world land speed records, and is gearing up for his next big Kiwi Can Do Challenge. By setting this new world record Reg wants to profile the amazing engineering capability and ingenuity of Kiwis …and inspire the next generation to always strive for the impossible and make it possible.

Reg would tell you "To chase 880kph/550mph I have sold my house, live in my sheds and have spent all my children's inheritance!"

Now, Reg needs our help to continue on to the finish line  - with what the renowned Steve Horne calls 'an outrageous adventure'!

Who are we?

We are a bunch of volunteers and enthusiaists who champion the profiling of the Kiwi Can Do attitude that sets Kiwis apart on the world stage.

Everyone on the Cook Motor Racing Team to Bolivia is a volunteer contributing their skills and time in and around full time jobs to support the quest.

Many are mechanics and engineers busy helping Reg in the sheds prepare the cars and the rest of us are fundraising, spreading and word and helping with social media and communications. Every pledge will be accounted for!

Want to know more about the man Reg Cook: These videos will introduce him well.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Be part of this 'Kiwi Can Do' adventure and world land speed motor racing history. Join us on this mission impossible as we support Reg Cook and his 60 strong volunteer Motor RacingTeam in their quest to set an outrageous new land speed record of 550MPH or 880KPH on the Uyani Salt Lake in Bolivia.

The cost of getting the team and machines to Bolivia to make global history is well over one million dollars  - and Reg is selling everything he can to make it happen. ( Reg completely funds his machines.)

This Pledgeme campaign is to make sure he doesn't have to sell the kitchen sink! He's living above the sheds as it is!

Will you join the Kiwi Can Do Bolivia Challenge Team,  and partner with us to propel the project to success?

How much we need to raise

We need to raise at least $120,000 NZD by 7pm on the 5th July. Check out the reward program in place and keep track of progress.

Pedges received will go towards getting the four containers over to Bolivia, communications on the ground, International Landspeed motor racing fees and ground costs. (All the team pay their own way there.)
