Help me to launch my one-woman show!
Hello,
My name is Red and yes, I
am the real Little Red Riding Hood. You may think you know me but you don’t.
Once upon a time my story was taken, coated in sugar and fed to the masses. Now
I need your help to separate fact from fiction.
I have a show “Take back the Hood” which is an exclusive, confessional look into what really happened that fateful day and my life since.
But I need your help to
get my message to the people; remember there was no rich prince at the end of
my story. I’m on my own.
I need some dime to cover marketing costs and venue hire. I’ve already been
chased out of all the major office buildings in town for using their
photocopiers and I’m too recognisable to try again. I’m used to just occupying
a space and plugging in my keyboard anywhere but I’ve decided to class things
up a bit and move into the Fringe Bar. They said they need the venue hire for
insurance. That’s how rock and roll I am.
So, Join the REDolution!
Join me in my quest for liberation! Become an official Hoodie and help me to
Take Back the Hood!
Created and performed by Deborah Eve Rea (Sit on It, Zarathustra Said, Seven Ages of Man) and produced by Phoebe Smith (Skungpoomery, Closer) as part of the Wellington Fringe Festival.
Take Back the Hood was first developed as part of the Toi Whakaari Go Solo Season.
Take Back the Hood is playing at Fringe Bar, 191 Cuba Street in Wellington at 10pm from the 6th to the 9th of March. Tickets can be purchased from http://www.dashtickets.co.nz/tour/327on the door or at one of the many Dash Tickets resellers. Tickets are $15, $12 concession and $10 for Fringe addicts. We did it!
Thanks so much for banding together for the Redolution and helping me to Take Back the Hood. I am overwhelmed and very moved.
I still have a few days left and extra money raised will help me cover equipment hire and design costs.
Have a look at the video that has just been uploaded to Pledgeme and keep an eye out for me on the streets signing up more Hoodies.
