Greenroots Juicery is opening a plant based eatery:
Welcome everyone to Barefoot!
Barefoot is going to be located on Welles Street at The Welder, home to everything great in this world. Barefoot will be a food and drinks oasis for anyone living in or coming to visit the Garden City, offering plant-based organic goodness, all naturally gluten free too (yum we promise!).
Our mission is to support our local organic farmers and supply our community with delicious, wholesome and honest foods that are good for you and our earth.
Who Are We?
For those of you who don't know us, we're Katie and Will who started Greenroots Juicery at the Christchurch Farmers Market almost 5 years ago. This is where we met our organic growers and started serving our cold-pressed organic juices by the bottle, smoothies and acai bowls made fresh to order. We also made chia cups, and raw treats as a nutrient fix on the go.
Since then we’ve evolved and grown to a team of 8 passionate humans who hand-craft our farmers fresh organic produce into cold-pressed juices, which we bottle in glass and ship around the country to help people feel better from the inside out through the power of plants. Apart from this, our life-long dream has been to open a plant-based eatery focusing on creating seasonal organic food. So here we are... returning to our roots to offer you Barefoot goodness.
We Need a Little Help
While Barefoot opening is an exciting time, it’s also pretty stressful! We have put everything we've got into Barefoot and just need a little help to get us over the line. We are over budget with our fitout and would love for you to join our journey to bring this vision to life for our community.
The pledges will go towards helping pay for natural materials such as a lime-stone clay wall, the kegging system for the cold-pressed organic juice, under the counter fridges and freezers and eco packaging. Our stretch target is $30,000 so anything above our minimum of $19,000 will go towards our online ordering and home delivery service.

You can get in on our early bird pricing and save for our organic smoothies, cold-pressed juices, super salads or breakfast and lunch items, coffees and even come along to our launch party! Thank you all so much for all your love and support on this journey so far, this next stage is going to be plant-liscious, we can’t wait to share it with you!
What Are We Offering?
We’re going to use our house-made nut mylks to create specialty hot and cold drinks, turn our local organic veggies into super salads, raw treats, toasted sandwiches, soups plus much more. We want you to experience the most authentic, delicious and nutrient packed meals to enjoy on the go or eat in at Barefoot to recharge in a tropical oasis. We will have lots of to-go food and drink options for anyone who needs a nutrient fix on the run, served in eco packaging of course or feel free to bring your own!
For those that do not yet know Berry-Ade (our popular raspberry juice), we have had requests from customers to have Berry-Ade fountains, IV drips, and even romantic baths (maybe one day Andy). However, we are very excited to announce, we will be having Sparkling Berry-Ade on tap (kid friendly too) which is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
Gluten free lovers you are in luck as everything will be deliciously gluten free so those with celiacs or intolerances are completely safe with us! Some have theorised that while closing your eyes eating gluten free foods, it is near impossible to distinguish between cardboard. Have no fear, we have been working for years to create magical GF foods that actually taste good!
What’s super exciting is that we will be open on Friday and Saturday evenings as a Mocktail Bar serving botanical Barefoot mocktails, the best here on earth! Made from house kombucha (also on tap), cold-pressed organic juices, elixirs and garnished with organic fruits and herbs.
Greenroots Juicery will also have its presence in Barefoot - offering all their cold-pressed organic juices, immune shots, tangy tonics and cashew super mylks as well as including a glass bottle return station.
