Ahoy!! I (Brydee Rood) have been invited as a guest artist aboard the artist residency programme Last Ship in Mumbai. Last Ship covers my accommodation, food and studio for a month, but I need to scrape together a return airfare >> Auckland to Mumbai!
At Last Ship I will research and develop new art installations and video projects. With your help I can create, share and extend my potential; exploring a culturally diverse exchange and channeling this creative energy home to NZ in the development of future exhibition projects.
Following Last Ship I've been invited to join Sowing Seeds International Artist In Residence Camp 2012 in Rajasthan as a Co-Curator. I participated as an Artist in this programme in 2011 with the generous support of the Asia:NZ Foundation. You can read about my 2011 project with Sowing Seeds here. It's an honour to be invited back to extend myself in a curatorial direction; working with this years awesome artists in a unique and vibrant exchange.
I'm also working towards new collaborations with local artists in Delhi and Ahmedabad, if I can squeeze them in!! My time in India (mid Nov 2012 - late Jan 2013) will be devoted to creative progression in the pursuit and production of new innovative art projects.
