Hi guys! My name is Shannon Pay.  I am 18 years old, born and bred in Gore.  I recently just found out that I have been accepted into the APO Academy of Performing Arts in Melbourne, Victoria.  I will be studying a full time 2 year Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) at Melbourne Dance World Studios. 


There is no other course like this available in New Zealand, as my preferred style of dance is hiphop (New Zealand academies only really cater to contemporary and classical ballet).  So to be accepted into this course is a huge opportunity!  The aim of my project is to raise some funds to help pay for my course fees, which are $9,600 Australian annually, not including accommodation fees. 

Your pledge for this cause would mean a lot.  Dancing is my passion - it is one thing I have always strived for excellence in, whether it be in exams, shows, or just dance lessons throughout the week. 

I have three dance classes of my own that I teach at the Jade School of Dance.  I love teaching these boys and girls and seeing improvement every week. 

Going to Australia and being tutored by some of the best dancers in the industry is a huge honour, and I can't wait to learn what they have to share.  In the future I want to come back to my home town and give back what I have learnt. 

This course is a major stepping stone to help sculpt a career in the dancing industry. So please, pledge me! Every little pledge counts!
