Red Scare's 2018 Restagings

Project 2018-10-15 12:51:55 +1300

Red Scare Theatre Company wants to restage/revamp/redo two of our hit shows from 2018, Movers and The Bone Thief. Both shows had sold out seasons at BATS Theatre and Gryphon Theatre respectively and it was clear that audiences wanted to see these shows have a more life.
Red Redux is a crowdfunding venture with two tangible results, an Original Cast Recording of The Bone Thief and a tour of Movers in November.
By contributing you can pre-order the soundtrack, purchase a ticket to Movers or receive an exclusive Red Scare mug or t-shirt.

Movers Premise:

Aspiring comedian Tai starts work at a moving company and meets Oscar and Bruce, two Pākehā blokes who seem to have stepped straight out of the Stuff.co.nz comments. When Tai's off-the-cuff impersonation of Bruce impresses audiences,  he’s got to make a choice between his job and his career.

Director: Matthew Loveranes
Cast: Sepe Mua’au, John Landreth, Lloyd Scott
Writer: James Cain
Production Manager: Cassandra Tse
Sound Designer: Patrick Barnes
Set Designer: Lucas Neal
Stage Manager: Maddy Warren
Lighting Designer/Operator: Michael Trigg
Producer: Red Scare Theatre Company

The Bone Thief Premise:

In an old ex-mining town, a monster preys on local children. Young Aletta lives a life of privilege, but a friendship with an orphan boy and a love of stories leads her into the mountains on a hunt for the beast.

A dark fairytale with an original rock score, The Bone Thief was written by Cassandra Tse (M'Lady, Long Ago, Long Ago) with music composed by Bruno Shirley (Wonderland) - the pair reuniting after the success of their earlier productions Right Dishonourable, Bloodlines and Battle Hymn. The production was directed by Alick Draper (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) and features a talented cast of both musical theatre veterans and rising stars.
