Who are we?
Palazzo's team is composed of young Italian entrepreneurs and professionals who are passionate about the made in Italy style, culture, food, wine, architecture and design…While at the same time, having fallen in love with Kiwis and New Zealand’s landscapes and quality of life. The main goal of our business is to promote Italian culture throughout the country and to stimulate the exchange of experiences between Italian and Kiwis.
What's in the book?
We have decided to launch a book for you, lover of history, art, gastronomy and enthusiast of the tradition and authenticity of the Italian cuisine. Our head chef Matteo Catassi will walk you through and show you how to prepare some of the most popular and traditional dishes while explaining the history and cultural meaning behind each and every one of them. At the same time, Matteo will provide you with a guide on how to match the perfect glass of wine for what you are cooking.
On top of that, between each recipe, there will be a picture and explanation of an art piece related to the historical period or context.
The book will have 4 chapters divided as follow:
Each chapter will have 5 recipes and each recipe will be followed by an explanation of its historic value and/or cultural meaning.
The book will be written in both English and Italian in order to maintain the authenticity and establish a connection between Italian cuisine and lovely New Zealand.

Where is my contribution going?
We are aiming to cover the following costs for the book:
Distribution – (free shipping is included for all the rewards)
Graphic design for promotion
Time and effort of the author and the bilingual production team
All the funds raised here will go to the book. The more we raise, the further we will take Italianitá to all parts of New Zealand!
When will I get my rewards?
The book is already being written and the main launch is scheduled for 60 days after the campaign has been funded.

Matteo Catassi - Head Chef
Matteo Catassi is a young Italian chef whose professionalism and passion for organoleptic symphonies and Mediterranean tastes has driven him to explore the many different flavours around the world. Although his cuisine is innovative in the preparation of Italian menus, it is always thought in order to preserve the genuineness of Italian traditions. His professional history starts in the US, he has also completed the prestigious Cordon Bleu in Spain, a high-quality level qualification that led him to work for a group of Italian restaurants in Miami Beach and to take part, as a very young chef, in start-up projects in China (www.jilanduo.com) and Amsterdam.
Iacopo Simone - Sous Chef
Born in Lucca, Iacopo concluded his studies at Scuola Alberghiera di Barga. Having worked for over 12 years as a chef in several regions of Italy, Pino is specialised in Tuscany cuisine with a major in the production of fresh homemade pasta.
Tamara Benitez Garcete - Restaurant Supervisor
Having worked for over 15 years in the hospitality industry, Tamara has worked in a number of places around the world - such as the US, Netherlands and Italy. She is a wine-expert with wide experience in mixology, bartending and hospitality management. Being passionate about customer service, Tamara's role within Palazzo is to support the customers with her knowledge about drinks and wines and to provide great customer service.
Gianluca Schepis - Business Developer Manager
Gianluca from Sicily is an international management consultant for CartesioStudio.com and currently holds the role of Business Developer Manager of Palazzo Italia Ltd. He works with mid and senior level management, marketing, and technical staff. As BDM of Palazzo Italia Ltd his main role is to collaborate closely with the Head Chef to develop relationships with Italian Food & Drinks suppliers, always looking for new Italian products to be presented to Palazzo Italia customers with the aim of letting them know the stories of the companies, their traditions and the contemporary philosophy of Italian living.
Artur Joly - Business Developer Manager Assistant
Born in Brazil, Artur is half Italian and half Brazilian. Graduated in Journalism and post graduated in Marketing Management, he has experience as a radio reporter, press office and digital marketing management. Just recently he has taken up the role of Business Developer Manager Assistant at Palazzo Italia. His mains activities are related to the promotion of the business, increasing the brand awareness and reach and closing partnerships with other businesses. He is also responsible for managing some of the marketing campaigns applied by Palazzo Italia.
