We need your help to launch the first ever RAW Book!
Help us to tell a Story that New Zealand needs to hear!
The Story of RAW
Having reached a point where RAW knows what it takes to drive a successful outcome for each woman in the RAW programme, Annah feels the timing is right to take stock of the RAW journey so far and more importantly, raise the profile on what can be achieved with the right combination of belief, determination, hard work and generosity.
With your help, the RAW Book will enable the Charity to capture the elements that failed and succeeded during their first 4 years and shine the light on the magnitude, commitment and tenacity of all those involved in getting RAW to the place that it stands today.
Give voice to individuals that have remained largely invisible to the wider community. How they get to that place and more importantly what they need to find their way out. It will provide a roadmap for those currently stuck in a destructive and repetitive cycle to change direction, find their true north and become the mother that their children most desperately need. It will serve as a beacon of hope for the next generation.
Challenge the thoughts and perceptions of the wider community about recidivist offenders and provide a new lens through which to view offenders, the work of Corrections, and the role that private enterprise must take if we want to achieve different outcomes for our community and for New Zealand.
100% of the money raised will be used to fund the development, printing and distribution of the book throughout New Zealand.
About RAW (Reclaim Another Woman)
The RAW charity is a social enterprise set up by Annah Stretton, she then went on to employ her sister Rebecca to work with recidivist female offenders and prove that their amplifying criminal activity could be replaced with an alternative lifestyle model; one focused on education, employment and intensive peer support. Hailed as a break through rehabilitation model by the NZ Department of Corrections, RAW is now in its fourth year of successfully rehabilitating and reintegrating a segment of the community that the New Zealand population had largely written off.
Today RAW graduates are successful hairdressers, hospitality workers, farmers, public speakers and most importantly inspiring role models for their tamariki.
