Dearest friends, whanau, and Stu's fans,
I would like to let you know exciting news about "Stu Buchanan Real Book"!
As you know, I have been working on compiling and editing "Stu Buchanan Real Book" for last few years and FINALLY FINISHED IT! To be honest, some of you probably remember, but, I started this project when he was still alive.
Many coffee visits and phone calls later the previous project "Hey! What's the Time?" album was completed and released in 2013, but sadly, Stu passed away in 2014 June. It very saddens me that he won't be able to see the published version of his book. However, I still would like to print them out.
I see his photo every day and reminiscence about him. I found that lovely thing about this book is that you can hear his phrases and ideas through his compositions. I hope you will enjoy this book as much as I do.
I have compiled and edited 41 tunes of Stu's compositions all in concert key, Bb and Eb keys. The book is around 181 pages that include some of the old photos of Stu and his friends, and Stu’s quotes. I surveyed in my circle of friends, and quite a lot of people told me that they would love to have this book printed (physical copy to put in their bookshelf) rather than just a PDF version. Some of the people are keen to have both electric version and physically printed book.
Stu was a beloved local jazz legend and to have his compositions book could be a healing process for many who have been touched by him when he was alive. I also would love to see other fellow jazz musicians playing his compositions at their gigs.
In order to complete the process of physical printing, I need to find some fundings. Please help me raise some money so that I can print them out. I will only print out the amount of order I got. Please do not forget to order this time because this is the only time I will print off physical copies.
[Cost of the Books]
You can help me by simply pre-order the books which is available from 4 following options:
• Physical hard copy - $40 each
• Physical copy + PDF - $50
• PDF - $20 each
• Buy 10 copies and get 1 free (good set for your classroom or your band) - $400
The book is 181 pages long, comes with the concert, Bb and Eb key in one book.
For the PDF version, I will make sure the number on the index will link(collate) to the actual pages, so if you are using iPhone or iPad on the gig, it'll be easy to navigate with your colleagues or students.

Thank you to the Garden City Big Band for their contribution to perform Stu’s original pieces and thank you to people who shared their stories with Stu. Thanks you to all of you who helped me to complete this project and thank you to all who purchased the book.

I am delighted and excited to let you know that we will have books distribution party on Friday, May the 4th at the Cashmere Club from 7 pm - 9 pm.
Bring your horns and instruments, so that we can jam during the jam session segment with Stu's Real Book!
[Schedule]
Start: 7pm
Speech (Nanako and plus) : 7.10pm - 7. 20pm
Music (GCBB): 7. 20 pm - 7. 50pm
Speeches (anyone who wants to share a story with Stu): 7.50 pm 8.15pm
Jam sessions with the book (anyone): 8. 15 pm - 8.50 pm
Concludes the evening at 9 pm and pack down.
The evening is all about handing out the books that you pledged, and no cash will be involved, but you may want to bring some money for buying some drinks at the bar.
