About

On The Digital Disruption Bus Without A Driver: The NZ Book

Project 2017-06-13 15:10:20 +1200

Given the digital road we are on, New Zealanders are showing interest in the unseen potholes as well as the dreamy straights. Recent television exposure has not been particularly insightful. People want to know more about the downsides as well as the promised benefits.

The book in this project outlines previous disruptions we have been through, and can learn from, (which were also fronted by business evangelists). Award winning NZ journalist, Keith Newman, says, "I found the first chapter compelling...made me want to read more."

Global commentators are clear about our current predicament - no-one is guiding our journey, but it will happen anyway. While the internet helps in Shrinking distance, we will also need to cope with Shrinking wealth, Shrinking minds, and Shrinking freedom.

Chapter one is complete and available to anyone at www.whatsreallynext.nz. Read that chapter, and the list of all chapters, to see if you like the project. It draws comparisons between NZ and the USA, but is primarily about a small advanced nation coping with digital disruption.

I'm aiming for 1,000 readers who are interested in thinking more about where our nation is really going in this era. I have spent over thirty years working in the digital sector around the world, from IBM downwards.

And I'm an internationally non-fiction published author in the USA and New Zealand on these topics already, and a 2016 TedX speaker. A full bio is on www.whatsreallynext.nz

I am not the first on the planet writing in this space, but I may be one of the earliest in our country.
