About

Public Web Cam For Ngā Uruora - Kāpiti Project

Project 2016-10-30 11:14:24 +1300

Ngā Uruora -  Kāpiti Project is looking to fund a web cam as a community service for everyone that uses our part of the Kāpiti Coast. We envisage Escarpment Trail walkers (part of the Te Araroa Trail), fishers, spearfishers and the general public will use our web cam to check the weather and sea conditions as well as see some of the breathtaking sunsets we have in our area.

Busy weekends can see hundreds of people walking the Escarpment Track each day and providing income for local businesses.By driving traffic to our website we will raise the profile of the important conservation work that we carry out on the Escarpment between Paekākāriki and Pukerua Bay.

Local ecological consultancy, Groundtruth, has kindly offered their assistance in setting our webcam up. Their other webcams can be found here: http://songbird.groundtruth.co.nz/

$400 will go towards the camera

$100 will go towards set up and maintenance

$50 will cover Pledgeme's administration and transaction fees
