Zouk Aotearoa Represent!

Zouk Aotearoa is a team of four passionate Brazilian-Zouk dancers who have been selected to represent New Zealand at a Zouk dance congress in Australia called Brazil Central. The sold-out event brings together some of the best Zouk teachers, performers and dancers from Brazil and Australasia. So we've got the opportunity to show them what the NZ zouk scene has on offer! For a sneak peek at the event check out this video above. As soon as we've performed our choreo I will update this project with the video.


Our aim is to raise the credibility and profile of the NZ zouk scene so one of the things we've done is trained with highly-regarded international artists Carlos da Silva and Fernanda Vitoria to put together a professional performance. The idea is that we'll perform at local NZ dance events as a way to show non-dancers what zouk is about, and who they can learn from. The chance to learn from and perform alongside some of the best in the world just helps us offer more when we return to New Zealand. 

Performing at Brazil Central is a significant financial commitment for all of us, so we'd love and very much appreciate some support with our event attendance (performer pass) and costume costs. And if we raise more money, we'll put it towards growing the scene back here in NZ!
