About

Jekyll & Hyde

Project 2016-02-22 21:02:02 +1300

Hello you PledgeMe people! We are A Slightly Isolated Dog, the very famous and very French theatre company!

And we're back, with Circa theatre and the support of The Theatre Arts Charitable Trust (TACT)with the highly anticipated follow up to last year's smash hit Don Juan. This time we're here to tell the amazing story of Jekyll & Hyde.

This is an interactive performance event, a party in the theatre. Directed by Leo Gene Peters, gives audiences an immersive experience, without becoming the kind of participatory theatre that makes us cringe.

You, the audience, are crucial in telling the story. But there are no expectations, no wrong answers and participation is celebrated. You can simply watch if you want – but most choose to play in some easy and enjoyable way.

This reinterpretation of Jekyll & Hyde promises to provide an excellent night out, celebrating our darker side: our rage, boldness and desire.

BUT we need just a bit more money to make sure it happens.

And if you're not in Wellington then we can bring the shows to you, wherever you may be in the world!

And.. we have created some very cool Rewards for those that pledge. These rewards would make excellent Birthday or Wedding or Anniversary presents or the like. We have raised a good deal of money already, but need a bit more to create this show.

So, all you sexy people, anything you can give to help this show happen will be very, very appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

What the Critics Said About our last show Don Juan:

“...what theatre could be, not what it has been for the last hundred years. That’d be Don Juan’s greatest conquest” -Arthur Meek

“ a highly sophisticated show ” -John Smythe, Theatreview

"Controlled anarchy"  – Laurie Atkinson, Dominion Post

"This iteration of Don Juan feels like you’re being told the story of an outrageous friend of a friend. Incredibly entertaining. Go with a group if you can because it will be more fun that way." – Kris Wehipeihana, The Wellingtonista

“There’s not a speck of bullshit in it” -Arthur Meek

What Audiences Say:

“I loved it more than any other performance I've ever seen. I laughed so much. So clever.”

“I loved every minute of it .... Funniest play I have seen and the most fun that's for sure. Awesome! Well done all of you.”

Circa Theatre, 1 Taranaki Street, Wellington from 19 March to 16 April 2016 (preview 18 March).

Performance times: Tuesday – Saturday 7.30pm, Sunday 4.30pm

Tickets: $25 - 35 from www.circa.co.nz or by calling 04 801 7992

  • A devilish escapade – with Mr. Hyde as your partner in crime

  • A fierce battle with Mr. Hyde and a narrow escape

  • An adventure with Dr. Jekyll – trying to help him escape Mr. Hyde

  • We can invent something from you from whatever details/parameters you want us to include…

  • Or a completely personalised suggestion that you can pitch to us (this is dependent that it fits in with the rest of the work, but we’re open to almost anything)

Examples of the storytelling videos to be posted soon…

FEEL FREE TO PITCH DIFFERENT COMBINATIONS OF REWARDS – OR EVEN PITCH YOUR OWN REWARD.  IF IT FITS IN WITH THE WORK, WE’LL TRY TO MAKE IT HAPPEN…
