in 2015 I released my debut album 'Osiris'. The album went straight to number one on the NZ iTunes hip hop album charts, number five on the overall charts and made it onto the NZ official album charts. 'Osiris' was then nominated for and became a finalist in Best Hip-hop / Urban Album of the Year at the Vodafone New Zealand music awards.
Off of the back of the ‘Osiris’ success I was invited to tour with Six60 over summer and stopped in to play Rhythm and Vines and Northern Bass festivals as well.
Most recently I have been invited to play at South-by-South West music festival in Austin, Texas in March. It will be my first time performing outside of New Zealand and after some serious budgeting and number crunching it has become apparent I will need some help to make the trip happen!
I will also be finishing my latest project before SXSW so that it is ready to find the right hands and ears in the hope of breaking into the American music industry.
My goal is to go to America and SXSW as an unsigned musician, make waves in the industry over there which ripple back to New Zealand so other kiwi musicians can join me and reap the benefits of our collective hard work.
The funding is to pay for the trip to South by and 4 weeks of meetings between New York and LA for my new album. Trying to make the most of the journey.
