Wahine Rising

The idea for Wahine Rising was born in a beauty salon in Wellington New Zealand when Raquel Roderick and Alice Pearson (Beauty Therapist) found they each had a similar story to share. They had both been through abusive relationships and came out the other side, a success.
Wahine Rising is a book dedicated to Kiwi Women. For the women who escaped and the women who need encouragement from those who went before them.
The idea is to blow apart the stereotypes around domestic violence in New Zealand and give the opportunity for these women to show it isn't ethnicity, financial means, age or background that leads to abuse.
The book is backed by the New Zealand Womens Refuge and is set for release in June 2016.
The funding will go towards the complete project of creating, Advertising and producing the book.
From purchasing the domain for our email account right through to publishing and promoting the book itself.
By being part of making this book happen you have the tangible opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of women currently suffering from abuse.
