PlayCafe: A Place For Mums To Rest, Catch Up And Kids To Play

For the past 12 months we have successfully run creative workshops, classes, parties and events from our warehouse in central Tauranga at Craft Collective. We want to add a 'soft play' PlayCafe to our venue.

We want to create a truly child-friendly cafe, with toys, dress-ups and more. Somewhere safe to play, while Mum can keep an eye on the kids yet still catch up with friends, coffee groups or say get a mani or attend a pilates class.

Currently there are very few child-friendly cafes making it near impossible to eat out with the kids. There is also nowhere for Mums to have personal appointments or attend exercise classes with supervision for children.

We know Mums want to get fit, look good and catch up with friends - but without a regular babysitter it's pretty much impossible.

 

We already have the space, weekly Pilates and Yoga classes along with beauty and massage therapists lined up to visit the PlayCafe for Mums to book into. We even have people already wanting to come! We just need a little extra help to get the PlayCafe set up and ready to open.

Research conducted has confirmed this is a well needed service in our community and we would love to make this a reality. 

We also know that lots of NEW families move to Tauranga every week, and don't know how to make new friends. We want to include regular calendar events for Mums to meet others, and bring the kids for future playdates.

SHARING IS CARING

It would be amazing if you could share the PledgeMe project with friends, family and other Mums who you know would love this place. 

We plan to include regular classes for children too (free of charge) such as:

  • Kid's Yoga
  • Story Time
  • Tiny Time Music

 

Imagine being able to sit down with friends and finish a sentence! Have your nails done! Or even relax in a Yoga or Pilates class knowing your baby is having a great time in a safe environment! Woo hoo!

With your help, we can create this fantastic space.

A happy Mama is the best gift you can give your family.

We want to say a huge thanks to the early supporters, we know we have a great concept and look forward to bringing it to life. Parents deserve to be able to go out and catch up at a cafe without being shushed or made to feel unwelcome!

And kids should be allowed to be kids!
