Cats And Spaghetti Press: The Poster Poems

Project 2015-11-19 13:16:05 +1300

Cats and Spaghetti Press is pleased to present The Poster Poems!

Are you tired of poems being in books? Are you looking for something to hang on your wall or just covetously collect? Do you like posters? Do you like poems? Well do we have something for you!

Five designers and five poets paired up and created their vision of a poster poem. There's a letterpress one, printed by hand. A poem about bisexuality. Some intense embodiment. Some imperatives. And and annotated poem. Something for everyone! Something for you!

You can pick your poster or get as many as you like! We're only printing 100 of each so first in, first served! If the posters you selected aren't available we'll mix and match you from the rest! The posters are going to be A3 sized and we will reveal them as we go across the campaign! You can follow us on Twitter or Facebook to get updates or just check back here!

Here are the pairs (designers then poets for each match)

Erin Fae with Ya-Wen Ho (Letterpress!)

Catherine Hunt with Jessica Hansell (Imperatives!)

Julie Jeon with Chris Tse (Annotation!)

Devon Anna Smith with Hera Lindsay Bird (Bisexuality!)

Dan Nash with Hela Trol Pis (Embodiment!)

We set gave these pairs the free rein to do exactly what they wanted. They had complete and total editorial control and each created a totally different poster based on each of their particular styles.

We've got a little snippet of the letterpress poster poem on the project and as time passes we'll post new pics so you can get a little bit of a teaser of what you can expect! Here's the first!

Letterpress Sneak Peek!

Get yourself a wee poster poem surprise for the New Year!

Here's a glimpse of the poem by Hera and Devon! Hera has this to say about the poem:

"This poem is pretty self explanatory and the pictures follow the poem. Sometimes the best things in life are stupid. No, Heidegger never said that, but I’m pretty sure he would have if he was sad and bisexual."

Bisexuality!

Now we've got a little something for you from Chris and Julie. The One Hit Wonder's Lament!

Now we've got Jessica Hansell and Catherine Hunt's work! Look at this!

This poster is the lovely, lovely letterpress one by Ya-Wen and Erin. They had to print this very quickly after the studio (where the printer was!) had to be moved. These are the only posters that exist as things right now. Very exciting!

And now for our final poem. The weirdest! The most body horror. I present to you Dan Nash and Hela Trol Pis' creation!
