Help Us Make Fantastic Concerts Happen In The Town Basin This Summer

Kia Ora and a big WARM Hello!

Thank you so much for checking out our Pledgeme campaign.

 The Plan
We are organising 18 LIVE concerts in the Town Basin over summer showcasing our talented and wonderful musicians beside the fabulous Artisans Fair Markets free of charge to the people of Whangarei.   We need financial support to make it happen.

WAHOOOO - this is sooo exciting!!!

The Motivation

There are heaps of people, businesses and organisations coming together behind the scenes to make this idea possible - all wanting to make a difference and create something really fun and positive in our town.

Belltech has come on board with staging, production and technical support, Channel North has put our Crowd funding video together and The Old Stone Butter Factory are helping with sponsorship and event management.

We already have half of the 36 time slots filled by enthusiastic musicians keen for this all to happen!

We would LOVE for you to be on board and be a part of this exciting
community drive to make Whangarei into a fun vibrant place
we can all celebrate and be a part of.

The Key

All this wonderful music and entertainment needs to be offered free of charge to our community but it does have genuine costs that need to be met.

Fair Payment
Musicians are often asked to busk or to donate their talents and time free of charge for community events.  We would like to be in a position to offer musicians and bands a professional sound-engineered stage to perform on and be able to pay everyone involved fairly for their efforts and skill.
They are all worth it.

Traditional source of funding
Venues and events traditionally raise the money they need to pay for production and musicians fees through ticket sales or alcohol sales.  However these are not an option for us.

So, "who will pay the musicians?"

With no traditional source of funding and not wanting to skimp on quality or quantity – we need to come up with a creative way of raising the funds we need to pay people fairly and make this happen.

This is where YOU come in!

Together WE can make it happen!

The finances
It's simple: we need to raise $500 for each four and a half hour concert.
The stage, production and engineering is secured at a special rate of $300 leaving +/-  $200 for the bands and musicians (some will need more, some less - depending on size and experience).
If we raise more than this we will be able to pay the musicians more.

$500 per concert X 18 concerts over summer - gives us a total budget of $9k.
That's only nine thousand dollars for 18 events spanning 6 months.
In all honesty - we do really need more than this - but it's a good place to start.

"We need your help"

"Mā te hapori, nā te hapori. Awhi mai."

Ready to get on board?
Get on board and help us make this happen - join the campaign by making a pledge here - right now - and let's make some music together.
